Hi Ladies! Today I am doing a Gelish by Harmony review. I received the following as my Mother’s Day gift.

I asked hubby for this a few weeks before and I really didn’t think I would get it since it did seem a little pricey at first, but after we did the math, it worked out better for us to buy than for me to continue paying $20 for a manicure and the Gelish polish. So here is what I received. The Gelish starter kit, which is called the “Gelish Basix kit” which comes with 1 of each: Mini Gelish Ph Bond, Mini Gelish Foundation, Mini Gelish Top It Off, Mini Gelish Nourish, Mini Gelish Cleanser, and Mini Gelish Artificial Nail Remover.I also got the mini UV light which I believe is the least expensive one that they have since it is the smallest version, and then I did get 2 polishes since the kit does not contain any polishes.

I tried it out today and I absolutely LOVE it! Now, let’s be real…It took me a little while to get it since I was doing it sloppy and I didn’t let it cure for long enough, which is extremely important! If it doesn’t cure (dry) completely, then the nail polish will not stick and it is not going to stay the way that it is supposed to. After a couple of tries I finally managed to get it working. Here is the outcome of what I did:

Please excuse the blurry photos. I used my camera phone which didn’t work out as great as I wanted it to turn out. I do love the results. This color is right up my lane, since it is a bubble gum pink that I love. The color is Go Girl in case you want to pick it up as well. I did learn that in order for the polish to last, you really need to make sure that you remove any excess polish and gel from your cuticles and around your nail. I messed up a few nails and after they dried I tried scraping it off with my nail and it ended up pulling some of the polish from the nail, so make sure you do remember to do that.Here is a handy video that helped me with the whole process:

A little tardy for the party with the Muppet OPI nail polish post, but I did want to make sure I posted about it. Over the last couple of years I have been a little nutso over polish. I have tried just about every color of nail polish and I am definitely one of those gals who like the bright, noticeable colors and effects. I have done away with nails because I type entirely too much and I am too lazy and probably too cheap to go and get my nails done every two weeks, so I have learned to do my own manicures….Now, my pedi’s are definitely NOT done by me! Ok, so today I was thinking of how bland my nails are looking these days and decided to take a look online at nail polishes that I can purchase that will give me that salon finish without having to leave my home. Now…two hours later I have fallen in LOVE with the China Glaze Crackle nail polishes.

The China Glaze nail polish is unlike the OPI Shatter nail polishes, the China Glaze Crackle definitely has some crackin’. They have a total of 6 colors for you to choose from at the moment which are: black, white, gray, blue, pink & purple. The great thing about these nail polishes is that you can put them over any color or any brand nail polish and it will create a great cracking effect. I must say that although I am just placing the order and have not received them, they are going to be right up my alley.
